Organizational Behaviour (OB) is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups and
structures have on behaviour within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge towards improving
an
organization’s effectiveness. It is the study of what people do in an organization and the way their behaviour
affects the organization’s performance.
OB is applied behavioural science built on contributions from behavioural disciplines, mainly psychology at the
individual or micro level of analysis, social psychology & anthropology have contributed to our understanding of
macro concepts such as group processes & organization.
Organizational Development (OD) is a system wide application and transfer of behavioural science knowledge to
the
planned development, improvement and reinforcement of strategies, structures and processes that lead to
organization effectiveness.
My mission is to combine the concepts from organizational theory with changing events in the real world to
provide
an updated view of organizational design and development that is engaging for executive education students and
clients.
